Explore Gorongosa is the first and only private safari outfit being permitted to operate in Grongosa National Park, and with a maximum capacity of only eight guests at any one time offers a truly intimate, private and unique southern Africa safari experience.

Explore Gorongosa specialises in walking safaris, based out of the semi-permanent tented camps, and also offers game drives in Gorongosa National Park. During December to May, the camp is closed as this is when the river bursts its banks, and is open from Mid May to end November.

Accommodation is in semi-permanent tents, with eco friendly toilets, vanity tables and outdoor bucket showers.

The Gorongosa Park Restoration Project is slowly restoring the numbers of wildlife in the park, and birding is excellent with rare birds in the rainforests atop Mount Gorongosa.

Gorongosa is accessible by air or self drive from Beira into the Reserve, or from Maputo or Bazaruto by scheduled flight.
